About our HPAT Preparation Courses
Independent Academy has researched the HPAT exam and equivalent test worldwide, in order to ensure that our HPAT Preparation Course is the most relevant and practical tool for the HPAT exam. Our HPAT Preparation Course and our expert HPAT tutor have now become renowned throughout the country.
HPAT Course Dates
- Course 1: December 10th & 11th 2011
- Course 2: December 17th & 18th 2011
- Course 3: January 7th & 8th 2012
- Course 4: January 28th & 29th 2012
- Each day runs from 10.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m.
- Extra Third Day for all students who attend all HPAT Courses: Saturday 4th February 2012.
Benefits of our HPAT Preparation Course
A detailed look at each section of the HPAT exam
Students will be taken through the three sections of the exam and given specific exam techniques for each section as well as having the chance to practise each section with the aid of the course tutor.
Interactive Technology
Independent Academy is determined to ensure that students get the most out of our courses. As a result, we use interactive technology to ensure that students can assess their individual progress throughout the course, especially how they are performing in relation to the cohort of students taking the HPAT Preparation Course with them.
A Complimentary Refresher Course
Independent Academy will offer all students who attend any of our HPAT Preparation Courses a two hour refresher course free of charge on Saturday February 4th 2012, just before the HPAT examination. This allows students to take a course with us as early in the academic year as they wish, safe in the knowledge that they will have the opportunity to brush up on techniques before the exam.
A Complimentary Mock HPAT-Style Exam under Exam Conditions
We realise that it is important for students to be given a chance to tackle a mock HPAT-style exam under exam conditions, in the same way as students take mock Leaving Cert. exams. Such an experience allows students to learn valuable lessons in terms of timing, technique and how they react to the pressure of the situation. As a result, Independent Academy offers all students who take a HPAT Preparation Course with us, the chance to sit a full mock HPAT-style exam, under exam conditions, under the supervision of an invigilator on Saturday February 4th 2012. This exam will take place outside of the two day Preparation Course as we will use all of the available time on our two day course, to teach and practice techniques. Students’ mock exams will be graded and all students will receive feedback.
A Third Day for the Price of Two
As discussed above, students who take any of our HPAT courses are entitled to a mock HPAT-style exam and a refresher course free of charge.
A Selection of On Line Multimedia Resources
Students will be provided with a selection of online multimedia resources which can be used after the course has been completed. Students can use the resources at their convenience and at their own pace. This serves as an invaluable tool when used in conjunction with their specialist Independent Academy notes and when practicing techniques for the HPAT exam.
Group/School Discount.
Bookings of 5 or more may avail of a 20% discount. This offer can be used in conjunction with our €50.00 discount vouchers.
Complimentary HPAT Seminars

At the seminar, students will be:
- Given an introduction to the HPAT exam
- Advised as to the best overall approach to maximise their HPAT score
- Introduced to some of the specific techniques which can be utilised in the three exam sections
- Given the opportunity to practice some sample questions
- Given detailed handouts
